One of our regular guests contacted us to ask if we had a yeast free bread as she loves coming to us to eat but can't have our sandwiches or toasties because she is allergic to yeast.
So, what did we do? We researched suitable recipes, chose the best two that we thought would work, made practice loaves and taste tested them. Then, we sliced them and froze them to see how they faired - so we could always assure this lovely lady that we would always have her bread for a toastie, and toasted a slice of each and asked the team to try them. One was a hands down winner so we made a large loaf and have now got it sliced and frozen ready for the next time she comes to see us. She was so pleased when we let her know, she has asked to buy a whole loaf that she can have at home! Of course, we will oblige next time the baking is happening!
Do you think Costa, Nero, Starbucks or any of the chains that aren't run by independent traders would do this? That's a no!
We're so glad we have the autonomy, skills and resources to do our research and development to benefit our customers and hope we can do so much more in the future to make us really stand out for being fully inclusive of all diets and requirements.

Bacon Sandwiches! (4th May 2025)

There was too much bacon in a customer's sandwich!
Did you know that. in one of our deep filled, stacked high bacon sarnies you get 5 rashers of our thick cut, Hampshire smoked back bacon?
Well, you do! We don't believe in short changing you when you order your food from us - we want you to say 'Wow' and leave full and happy!
There's no such thing as too much bacon in our world! Come and try one 😀
